The story is moving and the thought that God can open our eyes to see what he sees is even more astonishing. I mean, think about it. In this life, should we be blessed enough to have good vision, we see a three dimensional world. We hear, smell, touch through our natural senses.

Yes, God works not only in this dimension, but in a dimension outside our normal capacity to see it. Simply stated, God is not limited to the physical world into which we were born and live each day.

Have you ever considered that prayer is fundamental to enlarging our vision of the world? In the case of Elisha and his servant, it did. Elisha saw them. Countless agents of God with the battle in their hands before a single swing of a sword was made. He had confidence in God's ultimate victory so he didn't worry. But his servant did not see it and worried that the enemy would likely prevail and they would probably die.

So, what do you do when those around you don't see what God is doing? Elisha prayed for his servant and he overcame his fear. But some people upon seeing what God is doing would still worry because they lack confidence in God's plan. You might know them. In fact, you might be one. I speak of a person who finds reason to worry even when God is working miracles all around them.

We shouldn't worry, even when the enemy threatening us is seemingly invincible. God is working for the benefit of his children and wants us to learn to trust what He's doing in our life.

Are you trusting God to deliver you from circumstances that seem bigger than your capacity to deal with them? If not, I pray we'll learn the lesson Elisha taught his servant. When things are dark, we should pray the hardest, asking God to open our eyes to the light of what He's doing. When we do, we'll no doubt lose our fear and like David in front of Goliath, have confidence the battle is the Lord's.
