Revelation 19:11-12 tells us, "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire and on his head are many crowns..." John had been given a peek into the future where he saw Jesus Christ coming from heaven to take care of business, so to speak. Everyone will see Him and no one will be able to ignore Him. I call Zechariah 12 and Revelation 19, "book-end" visions. Here's what I mean: we hear of Jesus coming a second time hundreds of years before He was born the first time and then from John in the distant future when he is permitted to see it happen first hand. But perhaps even more amazing is Zechariah's prophecy that this coming King will have been pierced by the ones who see him. We know that Jesus has scars in his hands and side from the Romans who killed him at the angry encouragement of the Jews. Amazingly, Zechariah described the crucifixion's effect on Messiah, but think about this fact: crucifixion didn't exist as a death penalty and the Roman nation that killed him hadn't been born. But perhaps even more astonishing is the fact that God still holds the Jews responsible for knowing who He is, even after generation after generation has been buried and forgotten. One day, according to Zechariah, they will not only see him, but also know who he is and bow before him as Messiah! Yes, these are amazing facts, but there is an even more astonishing fact concerning Messiah. Millions of people have the inspired word of God that gives indisputable evidence to lead one to believe Jesus is who He claims to be and yet, they reject the evidence and act like it doesn't matter what they believe. Have you made an informed decision concerning Jesus Christ? Christmas season presents a wonderful opportunity whereby a person can settle accounts and clear the books before starting a new year. Why not settle the issue of God's unrequited love for you and be like one of the wise men who wouldn't ignore evidence? They looked for Jesus and when they found Him, they recognized Him for who He was and then worshiped Him accordingly.
