This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit widows and orphans in their distress. - James 1:27

Send someone to rescue those reduced to living on the street. Prov 2:32,33; 3:26

Bless those institutions which care for them. Prov 21:5; 28:19,20

Enable them to come to know the Lord and grow in His grace. Prov 27:17; 28:13

Give them a desire to have a good name Prov 3:4; 22:1

Give them a tenacity for school work and lead them to excellence. Prov 4:13

Create desire in parents, first for the Lord, then their children. Prov 29:6

Use the caregivers to demonstrate the love of Christ.

Give wisdom and direction to them. Prov 4:10,12; 4:5,6

Grow them in strength and turn them from evil ways. Prov 3:7,8

Protect them even in the midst of evil. Make them peacemakers. Prov 3:25,26; 17:19

Give them a respect for authority. Prov 1:25; 29:15

Keep them from making the same mistakes over and over again. Prov 11:3

Keep discouraging words from the ear of the orphan, rather give them joy. Prov 17:22

Don't allow them to grow without knowing the freedom in godly discipline. Prov 22:15

Keep schemers and crafty men from hurting them. Prov 22:16; 22:22,23

Give the orphan a peace in the refuge provided them. Prov 22:3

Teach them to share from a grateful heart. Prov 23:6,7

Keep them from prostitution and those who seek to entice them. Prov 7
